Australia....Truly Chinese

Its really good to travel for a fact that it not only gives you an opportunity to see different cultures but it also gives a  break from life which otherwise becomes very monotonous. For me going to Australia was both a break and meeting with the old Grandpa who is staying in sydney and is 98 years old. Sydney will be special to me not because its beautiful but for the grandpa who loves me a lot and pampers me. Its difficult to get someone to love you that much.

Though this was my second visit to the country but everytime you get to have different experiences and there is always something new to explore. Going on a helicopter ride and seeing Sydney from the skies was an out of world experience. This  time our other destination was Cairns- land of Great Barrier Reef. They say this is the only other thing which one can see from space besides the Great Wall of China. Taking a Hot Air Balloon ride was another amazing experience there. When i think of Great Wall of China, i also must say that Australia is full of chinese people. I saw more of chinese there than Australians. It must be some govermental ties or business investments that has led to movement of Chinese to Australia. One has to be really sure that what one is buying is actually made in Australia and not made in China. But its really difficult to get an authentic Australian made stuff. During my shopping spree i did try to do that but to no avail as anything that i was picking up was made in China whether it was a souvenir or an apparel. I had no option but to pick them up. I would have loved to pick chinese things from china and not Australian Things from China.

The other issue was finding vegetarian food. There also besides the usual Mcdonalds or The KFCs, the other option was Chinese with the non veg stuff. Australia is gifted with such a good soil quality  that it gets a good produce. Then why people there eat animals, they should eat vegetables also. There should not be dearth of vegetarian options in such a country. I literally lived on potatoes and thankfully i eat egg otherwise it would have been difficult. The Chinese joints are available in every nook and corner. Even it seems the Chinese is like  a second language. The instructions are written in Chinese also in lots of places. I feel that China may take over Australia one day. I have never seen such an impact and control of one country on another unless its USA.


Leaving the China Effect aside, Australia is a beautiful country to visit. Given an opportunity i would again like to visit and would recommend others too. But for me touching down the runway of Mumbai airport was a relief. No matter how much Australia is better, clean, systematic and every other good adjectives one can use for that country, i like coming back home and staying here. Oh God how much i missed the food. Have not touched the chinese food till now ..had an overdose there.

One day while taking my evening walks i saw these two small kids playing around my building. One of them got really angry on another one for some reason. Since i was concentrating on my walk i did not really get to know what transpired between them but the words Fuck you reached my ears like an arrow being shot at me. The small boy shouted at the other and said fuck you. These words really compelled me to go and ask him,'' Do you know the meaning of these words". He said ," No Aunti I dont know but i have heard it in a song and also In WWF wrestling". I had to tell him, seeing his age he was only about 6, not to use this word again like this. He did ask me why and i had no clue how to explain it to him. It was such a tender age. I just excused myself from there , probably he would have gone back home and asked his mother. I dont know whether she would have been able to explain it to him but i was saved and spared of all the explanations. This episode  really made me ponder that how much our society has become sexually liberated. Words like sex and fuck was such a taboo in our society and now small kids are using it without knowing their meanings

In this internet savvy generation, everything is easily available. Sometimes i feel everything is suddenly revolving around the sexuality. Its everywhere movies, music, advertisements.It seems that the male deodorants were made only  to physically attract a woman. See the range of deo adds coming on TV, most of them have sexual overtones to them. See the Rihannas, beyonces, britneys of pop music, hip gyrating dances, sexually provocative dresses,raunchy videos.  does one  really need to do such things if one is talented and has made good music?. Why sexual element has to be included? I have seen people slyly enjoying the videos of such songs irrespective whether the song is actually good or not.I feel its like 'prostitutionalising' the music. I dont know this word exists in the dictionary and if not then i am coining it.And as always we have started aping this trend from the west as well. When it is shown on TV naturally our little kids will get exposed to it in some point of their growing up. Its very difficult to dissuade them from seeing them because moral policing all the time is not possible for parents.

Well I am not saying the society should be sexually regressive but liberalisation should not make it vulgar. It should be used to educate the kids so that they should not experiment with their sexuality and do painful mistakes in their lives. It should not be interpreted as bad and the kids should be able to discuss openly about it with their parents. 

Young politicians plz stand up..

TV, an idiot box, had not much importance in my life before this. I am over the serial phase and merely watched it for 2 hours and that too disinterested in most of the things. But moving to new city made it a constant companion. With no friends around and all my real friends being in virtual world of wts app and facebook.They are busy with their work and friends in US sleeping in their world i have to resort to TV for passing time. I am suddenly playing with the remote and its both  fun and irritation  to keep surfing the channels and finding nothing of interest to watch. Then i chanced upon a travel channel which was showing some pizza recipe. I got to learn that putting chilly oil on the pizza enhances the taste of it. Well you may all know it but for me it was a good tip and ill be using it next time while making pizza. So not bad at all i gained some knowledge. While playing with the remote hooked me on to the news channels and no matter what news channel i put there was discussion on Arvind kejriwal. Its both astonishing and exasperating that how this man has gripped and captivated the entire nation for the last7-8 months.With a good and commendable education background one would have expected a lot from this man. Its not as if education and politics goes hand in hand, especially not in our country, but it does give some sort of outlook to the person. Its quite amusing to watch the political zoo our country has become now  a days. I wonder why kejriwal has gone to Benaras to contest polls. Sometimes i feel whether he is fighting against modi only, the way they are throwing salvos at each other or fighting to save country from modi. The veterans like advani still fighting for constituency when he should actually be retiring and giving way to young politicians.

There was an influx of young politicians in our country at one time like Sachin pilot( my favourite), jyotiraditya sindhia, akhilesh yadav, omar abdullah,Milind deora and not to forget Mr Rahul Gandhi. They are there somewhere but are not to be seen in the political scenario. I dont even know which portfolios have been given to them except for omar and akhilesh being the CMs and ofcourse Rahul Gandhi Gen Secretary of Congress. These old politicians are overshadowing them under the name of experience i feel. I had anticipated that akhilesh yadav would change the face and impression of UP but he did not do anything substantial. So should i say they are not able to come out of their fathers' shadow and still following the orthodox style of politics without asserting themselves. I feel there is much more these young politicians can deliver to the public and for that they need to be visible to the general public. One can not run the country by making enemies within political parties and holding country on ransom by unreasonable dharnas,The issues are to be resolved by some middle path and surely these young politicians can bring in some innovative ideas to address the issues. Otherwise they will only prove to be their fathers' son only. So common guys i want to see more of your work.

does sincerity pay

what if you get up in the morning having no direction.no kid to send to school, no husband going to office. You are just getting up doing everyday morning ablusions . There is a servant to make your everyday food and maid to do other chores. you are practically doing nothing but still getting stressed out. This leads me to conclude that stress is not only in the lives of extremely busy people but its very much a part of idle people also. Its a depressing life one can lead. We are always told that its one life and we should live it to the fullest. if we  come to think about it, is our life actually ours in the truest sense. There are expectations from the people around you. You are expected to behave in a particular way. PEople who are actually able to break this are referred by different names.On the other hand i have seen these people getting successful in life. We are told to be sincere in lives but isn't sincerity lead to suffering lots of times. Sincere people have to be after insincere and indiscipline people to get things right, this is such a stress on the mind. Sometimes i feel that everything works according to people who are non adjusting. Adjusting people are taken for granted. You do get praises for being adjusting but thats it.. you have to suffer because you have to stop listening to your heart and have to do what others expect you to do.
This conflict goes on in my mind very many times but i dont get any conclusion. I am not saying that one should become insincere but we need to introspect and see where it is respected and where its not ?

new world opening

Its a new beginning for me.World was merely left to attend to family needs. Husband, in-laws ,household stuff. When i see my friends reaching where they have today, it gives me immense proud. Encouraged by them i am able to start this blog writing. i dont even know how good i can write  and how interesting it will be but i have started this journey. Thats why making good friends in life is like earning a treasure for life. Thanks friends
